BioPreferred is a mandatory Federal Procurment program that requires government purchasers to buy and use biobased products made from renewable agricultural and forestry materials. Many of these finished industrial products replace petroleum in the marketplace and many biobased building products are also currently being used in the commecial and residential market, such as insulation, roof coatings and interior and exterior wall systems. Cleaners, lubricants and other products are biobased.
