U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) As the Acting Assistant Secretary and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for DOE's EERE, Dr. Henry Kelly oversees a broad energy portfolio, helping hasten the transition to a clean energy economy. The EERE portfolio includes programs that will help put one million electric vehicles on the road by 2015, make the nation's buildings 20% more efficient, and help the United States obtain 80% of its electricity from clean energy sources by 2035. Prior to his arrival at DOE, Dr. Kelly served as the President of the Federation of American Scientists where he led a team that conducted analysis and advocacy on science, technology, and public policy, including global security issues, energy policy, and education technology. Dr. Kelly also spent seven years with the Clinton White House as the Assistant Director for Technology for the Office of Science and Technology Policy, where he helped negotiate and implement administration research partnerships in energy and the environment, information technology, and learning technology. This is Dr. Kelly's second term with EERE. Early in his career he worked as a Special Assistant and Senior Scientist in the office. |  |
John M. McHugh

U.S. Army Mr. John M. McHugh was sworn in as the 21st Secretary of the Army on Sep. 21, 2009, following his nomination by President Barack Obama and confirmation by the United States Senate. As Secretary of the Army, he has statutory responsibility for all matters relating to the United States Army: manpower, personnel, reserve affairs, installations, environmental issues, weapons systems and equipment acquisition, communications, and financial management. At the time of his appointment as Secretary of the Army, Mr. McHugh was a sitting member of Congress representing Northern and Central New York. During his nine year tenure with U.S. Congress, Mr. McHugh served on numerous committees, including Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, Chairman of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Panel Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Postal Service, and the House International Relations Committee. |  |
Doug McKenzie-Mohr

McKenzie Mohr & Associates For over two decades Dr. Doug McKenzie-Mohr has been working to incorporate scientific knowledge on behavior change into the design and delivery of community programs. Dr. McKenzie-Mohr has worked internationally with a diverse array of governmental and non-governmental agencies, assisting them in identifying the barriers to behavior change and in developing and evaluating community-based social marketing initiatives to overcome these barriers. He is the founder of community-based social marketing, and his best-selling book, "Fostering Sustainable Behavior: An Introduction to Community-Based Social Marketing," has become requisite reading for those who deliver programs to promote sustainable behavior. Dr. McKenzie-Mohr is also the author of the Fostering Sustainable Behavior website and listserv. The listserv links together over 7000 environmental program planners globally. Dr. McKenzie-Mohr has served as an advisor for Canada's public education efforts on climate change, as the coordinator of the international organization, "Holis: The Society for a Sustainable Future," and as a member of Canada's National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy. He is a former Professor of Psychology at St. Thomas University in New Brunswick, Canada where he co-coordinated the Environment and Society program. |  |
