Track Description: Building operations and maintenance (O&M) are increasingly important as greater reductions in energy intensity are required, energy costs rise, and operational budgets shrink. This track is for facility and energy managers and anyone involved in daily facility operations.

Track Description: Any successful energy program requires knowledgeable contracting and technical professionals. Today's complex energy markets, expanding goals and requirements, ARRA opportunities, and continued economic instability pose significant challenges and opportunities to Federal energy managers and contracting officers. Discover contract vehicles and methods to make your program a success.
Energy 101
Track Description: This track is designed to teach beginning energy managers about the elements of a comprehensive energy management program. These fast-paced sessions will start with the basics and cover a wide variety of topics.
Energy Lawyers and Contracting Officers Working Group
Track Description: This track provides lawyers and contracting officers with a forum for discussing common challenges. A "town hall" discussion session on Wednesday morning — open to all — will be the capstone to GovEnergy's many sessions of particular value to this group. Track Description: Federal facilities are increasingly vulnerable to utility interruptions. Learn how to develop proper security measures for energy and critical utilities.
Greenhouse Gases
Track Description: Federal agencies are required to inventory and manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to meet Federal goals and mitigate climate change. Learn how to manage GHG emissions and lead the way to climate neutrality from Federal and industry experts as they present accomplishments and case studies.
Human Behavior
Track Description: Human behavior affects the dynamics and strength of every organization. Learn how to identify the challenges and opportunities in human behavior, integrate behavioral components across programmatic objectives, use technology and data reporting to drive change and measure performance, and use a well-implemented behavioral program to achieve your energy goals.
Legislation, Policy, and Leadership
Track Description: These sessions will detail the latest federal legislation and policies, including energy and climate change legislation being debated in Congress; policy guidance on implementing the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA); and FEMP programs and resources to assist agencies in complying with legislative and executive requirements.
Metering and Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS)
Track Description: Metering is the cash register of utility savings. It’s about measuring consumption, but also energy management, control, data analyses, and cyber security guided by policy, directives, and executive orders. Let us give you a comprehensive view of metering and EMCS to help you to make informed and value-based decisions.
Project Financing
Track Description: Case studies and tools will be presented to enhance your success in taking advantage of financial incentives and using utility financing, energy savings performance contracting, enhanced use leasing, and power purchase agreements.
Renewables
Track Description: Renewables are expanding their reach across the nation, with many new projects appearing at federal sites. These sessions will cover the basics of solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, and several technologies under development, the resources available for starting a project, and the challenges encountered and overcome by federal facilities.
Specialty Buildings
Track Description: Learn about the latest strategies and technologies available to improve the efficiency and sustainability of nonstandard, high-intensity buildings such as laboratories, data centers, and central utility plants. Researchers, peers, and industry experts will share best practices and lessons learned from their own efforts to tackle these energy and water hogs.
Sustainability
Track Description: Federal agencies are required to address sustainability in building design, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance. Learn about sustainability strategies in product procurement, building certification and standards, and the Federal guiding principals, mandates, and requirements that are the cornerstone of the government's sustainability efforts.
Technology
Track Description: Discover the issues revolving around today’s new and existing applications, products, tools, and systems from a technology viewpoint. These sessions will spotlight applications and issues in technology that are applicable to Federal facilities.
Water
Track Description: Experts will discuss federal water requirements, how to assess existing water usage, and how to evaluate advanced outdoor water efficiency strategies and design concepts for a comprehensive water efficiency project. We will also present case studies from the U.S. Architect of the Capitol, Fort Dix, and Travis Air Force Base.
